PREVENTIVE EFFECT OF NEGATIVELY CHARGED A IR IONS ON RATS WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF BEHAVIOR IN ACUTE STRESS

Typological characteristics of behaviour of 63 male white rats weighin g 200-250 g were estimated by their locomotion in the open field. Acut e stress was induced by putting the rats into narrow tubes for 1 h. Pr ior to the experiment, the rats were exposed to the air ions produced by Chizhevsky airionizer (<<Elion-132>>) for 2 h daily within a week. It was found out that the expression of separate pathological stress-i nduced changes depended on typological characteristics of rats. The ai r ions were shown to prevent completely the development of physiologic al changes caused by acute immobilization, including arterial pressure increase, gastric mucosa injuries (erosions, haemorhage), changes in respiratory enzyme acrivity (succinate dehydrogenase and NADH-dehydrog enase) in brain cells, cardiac and adrenal mass increase in rats with the active type of behaviour.
