Rs. Ilyasov et Se. Babkin, IMPULSIVE ELECTROMAGNETIC-ACOUSTIC CONVERSION OF THE HIGHER HARMONICSOF SURFACE-WAVES IN FERROMAGNETIC MATERIALS, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 31(8), 1995, pp. 613-618
An experimental study is made of impulsive electromagnetic-acoustic co
nversion of the higher harmonics of surface waves associated with vert
ical and horizontal polarization in ferromagnetic materials. It is sho
wn that in contrast to the resonance method, efficiency in the convers
ion of the second harmonic may reach tens of percent of the value for
the first harmonic. The equivalent efficiency for the third harmonic i
s several percent. A thermodynamic approach is used to explain all of
the experimentally observed features of the electromagnetic-acoustic c
onversion of harmonics of acoustic surface waves.
