Abstract
Brain metastases represent an uncommon complication in malignant pleur al mesothelioma. A 55-year-old mate suffering from malignant mesotheli oma and pretreated with intracavitary chemotherapy and radiotherapy wa s submitted to systemic chemotherapy including lomustine, carboplatin, vinorelbine, fluorouracil and folates after diagnosis of bilateral ce rebral deposits. The patient had an Impressive response to chemotherap y, with complete regression of related symptoms. This case report repr esents the first on response to chemotherapy of brain metastases from mesothelioma. It points out that chemotherapy should be further explor ed in this subset of patients.
