Abstract
Cross-sectional imaging such as CT and ultrasound have rapidly develop ed a central role in diagnostic medicine. However, cross-sectional ana tomy has lagged behind in its incorporation into medical school educat ion, often leaving students without even a basic understanding of thes e images. At Hannover Medical School, we have successfully combined ha nds-on ultrasound workshops performed by medical students on other stu dents with our anatomy course. This interactive component of our anato my courses improves our students' understanding of clinical anatomy an d introduces them to ultrasound imaging.
