We report an Hepatitis B Virus reactivation, in a patient with an end-
stage Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection who developed a rapidly p
rogressive liver failure in four months. The main histological feature
s include ballooning of hepatocytes and ground glass transformation, w
ithout significant information. Immunohistochemical staining showed a
high expression of viral antigens. This case can be related to ''Fibro
sing Cholestatic Hepatitis'', first described after liver transplantat
ion for cirrhosis B. The mecanism of hepatocellular damage is likely t
o be a direct cytotoxicity of hepatitis B virus.
