K. Sundberg et al., PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF A MODEL DISPERSION OF COLLOIDAL WOOD RESIN FROM NORWAY SPRUCE, Journal of pulp and paper science, 22(7), 1996, pp. 248-252
A method for the preparation of an aqueous dispersion of colloidal res
in from Norway spruce was developed. The method involves extraction of
freeze-dried TMP with n-hexane, removal of the n-hexane by evaporatio
n and dissolution of the extract, i.e. the resin in acetone. A desired
volume of the resin in acetone is then injected into water, followed
by removal of the acetone by dialysis. The procedure gives a solvent-f
ree dispersion containing resin droplets that closely resemble colloid
al resin released from Norway spruce in mechanical pulping.
