Abstract
The effect of Gd and Ni impurities on the upper superconducting transi tion temperature of UPt3 (T-c(+) = 0.55 K) has been studied by means o f resistivity measurements. Surprisingly, we find that paramagnetic Gd impurities suppress T-c(+) at the same rate as non-magnetic Y or Th i mpurities, yielding further support for non-s-wave pairing. Ni impurit ies also suppress T-c(+), but do not dissolve homogeneously in the UPt 3 matrix.
