Abstract
The effect of short range magnetic correlations in the non-magnetic ph ase of the Kondo lattice is studied in a mean field approximation. It is shown that antiferromagnetic correlations stabilize the non-magneti c phase. The results are used to discuss some experimental data in cer ium compounds.
