THERAPY OF THROMBANGIITIS OBLITERANS USIN G AN ANGIOPLASTIC APPROACH WITH PERCUTANEOUS ASPIRATION THROMBECTOMY (PAT) AND THROMBOLYSIS

We report on three cases of male patients with threatening ischemia of lower limbs due to extensive thrombangiitis obliterans. Four extremit ies were treated successfully with a combination of percutaneous aspir ation thrombectomy (PAT) and thrombolysis. One stent was additionally implanted in one patient. Three reocclusions in two patients made a re intervention necessary. In all three patients we could achieve at leas t a temporary clinical improvement and no amputation was necessary.
