Abstract
A series of amine donor-substituted dicyanoquinodimethane molecules wi th large calculated hyperpolarizabilities has been investigated. Molec ular and crystal structure details of a prototypical system are presen ted. Moderate to strong phase-matched powder second-harmonic generatio n is observed in chiral amine-substituted compounds.
