Abstract
The structure of palladium(IV) telluride has been determined by single
-crystal X-ray methods. The structure type is Cd(OH)(2)-(C6). PdTe2 ha
s a layered structure with the layers stacking along the [001] directi
on. The Pd4+ cations are octahedrally coordinated. The layers are form
ed by the octahedra sharing edges along the [100], [010] and [110] dir
ections. The Pd-Te bond distance is 2.593 (2) Angstrom.
