Abstract
The treatment of 4-nitroimidazoles with an excess of sodium borohydrid e in the presence of sodium methoxide yields the (Z)-oximes of 4-imida zolidinones. The title compound, 1-phenyl-4-imidazolidinone (Z)-oxime, C9H11N3O, is a coplanar molecule despite the saturation of the hetero ring.
