A novel ring structure of formula C26H32Si2 has been formed by oxidati
on of 1,2-bis(1-trimethylsilyl-2-indenyl)ethane during attempted TiCl3
(thf)(3) complexation. Two indenyl groups are linked by a cyclohexane
ring having a chair conformation and the resulting dihedral angle betw
een the planes of the indenyl groups is 10.6(1)degrees.
