Abstract
The initial experimental results concerning the ammonia-sensing proper ties of Pt doped mixtures of alpha- and beta-CdSnO3 are reported. The mixtures of different beta/alpha ratios can be obtained by calcining t he CdSnO3 powder precursor prepared by coprecipitation under different experimental conditions. As compared with that of other samples, howe ver, the 1 wt% Pt doped mixture with beta/alpha ratio of 2.0 exhibits a very high sensitivity and selectivity to NH3 gas, moderate resistanc e and good response characteristic, as well as low operating temperatu re (240 degrees C) for this application.
