Abstract
We study the transient behaviour of a slider coupled to a loading spri ng, creeping its way to rest from a low velocity sliding state. Experi mentally, a two-stages process is observed which is analyzed with refe rence to a previously discussed theoretical model for creeplike fricti on dynamics at the interface between solids.
