I carried out my PhD work from September 1960 until May 1, 1963 at the
Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule under the guidance of Professor
V. Prelog. The topology of the active sites of the oxidoreductase from
Curvularia falcata and from horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase was exp
lored using a number of enantiomerically pure decalones and cyclohexan
ones as substrates. Our results prompted Professor Prelog to develop t
he so-called diamond lattice theory.
