T. Ravi et al., IONIC MASS-TRANSFER STUDIES IN FLUIDIZED-BEDS WITH COAXIALLY PLACED DISCS ON A ROD AS INTERNAL, Chemical engineering and processing, 35(3), 1996, pp. 187-193
Mass transfer data were obtained on the walls of the fluidized beds us
ing an electrochemical technique with a potassium ferri-ferro cyanide
couple. The disc promoter assembly was used as internal in fluidized b
eds, and consisted of a rod on which discs were mounted at equal dista
nce. The effect on mass transfer coefficient of particle diameter, voi
d fraction, disc diameter and spacing between the discs was evaluated.
The entire experimental data were correlated in terms of dimensionles
s mass transfer factor, flow factor and other pertinent dimensionless
groups of variables covered in the study.
