Abstract
The two known cadinanes 2-hydroxy-8 alpha-hydroxycalamenene and 2-hydr oxy-8 alpha-angeloyloxycalamenene were isolated from a Louisiana popul ation of Heterotheca subaxillaris. Their C-13 NMR spectra were fully a ssigned by the application of HETCOR, COLOC, COSY, NOESY and DEFT expe riments. It was shown on the basis of NOESY experiments that both cadi nanes require revision at the stereogenic centre C-7.
