Abstract
The development of any industrial application of a microbial process s hould include the study of medium composition. Experimental design and surface response technologies have been applied to Flavobacterium deh ydrogenans growth, concluding that, in the range of conditions used, c oncentration of glucose, phosphate buffer and yeast extract are the mo st significant factors in biomass production. Response surface methodo logy provides a model describing the relationship between these factor s and produced biomass.
