Abstract
The preparation of alkynepentacarbonyltriphenylphosphinedicobalt compl exes under mild conditions using linearly polarised ultra violet laser light is described. This method compares favourably with conventional thermal techniques and is superior when the alkyne contains reactive functional groups.
