Abstract
In this paper, the mass balance model relating to column pressure was set up, which based the original mass balance model, and taken into th e relationship between the pressure change and carrier gas speed in th e column. The first moment, the second and third central moments for t his new model were derived by Laplace transform. The theoretical resul ts showed that the column inlet pressure effects the peak profile and column efficiency. There is an approximate linear relationship among t he column inlet pressure, the retention time of solvent, and the half peak width. These subsequences were proved experimentally.
