Abstract
Double-electron-capture reactions of the type A(+)+M-->A(-)+M(2+), whe re A is a fast moving projectile ion and M a collision-gas molecule, h ave been studied, It has been found that when the projectile is either a 6-keV OH+ or F+ ion, and the collision gas a fluorinated benzene mo lecule, the cross-section for the reaction maximizes when the reaction endoergicity has a value between 10 eV and 14 eV.
