Abstract
The model of consequent first order reactions was used for the calcula tion of linoleic and linolenic selectivity with respect to fatty acids . The values of reaction rate constants were attained through the eval uation of experimental data of concentration of all the fatty acids wi th 18 C atoms by means of optimizing calculation. Calculated selectivi ty data are discussed in relation to three ways of input of the inlet data: A) From two experimental points at the beginning and end of reac tion at the iodine number higher than 80; B) from 4-6 experimental poi nts in the initial stage of reaction up to the iodine number higher th an 80; C) from 6-8 experimental points for the course of hydrogenation up to the iodine number values 30-60. The reaction rate is discussed simultaneously. The calculated selectivity values and reaction rates a re further discussed in relation to the reaction induction period, rea ction conditions and type of used oil.
