Abstract
The design of an IUD removal hook resulted in its impaction in the ute rus during the attempted removal of a stainless steel ring inserted in a patient from mainland China. Subsequent management of the patient a nd the advice of surgical instrument makers on the manufacture of IUD removal hooks is reported.
