Industrial blow molding is now a ''hotter'' technology because more de
signers and molders are realizing the functional and economic benefits
of the process, beyond the typical smaller blow-molded bottles and co
ntainers so prevalent in many packaging markets, A confluence of advan
cements in the machines and their head designs and controls; in the ca
pabilities of multilayer and sequential, dual-durometer material extru
sion; in parison manipulation; in mold technology, with enhancements i
n moving cores and sections; and in continuing advances in both commod
ity and engineering materials has stimulated the blow molding of more
large industrial parts. Look for more interesting applications to come
in major markets such as automotive, business machine housings, consu
mer goods, medical, and recreation as the curiosity and knowledge abou
t the process continue to build.
