Abstract
Diagnostic ultrasonography has been widely used for assessment of inju ries of the superficial digital flexor tendon but has many other uses in lameness diagnosis. This paper summarises some of those uses and th e limitations of diagnostic ultrasonography. Diagnoses which are readi ly made radiographically are excluded.
