The reaction of cyclohexanol has been carried out over HZSM-5, HY, var
ious silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO), MSAPO and chromite catalysts activ
e in cyclization reactions. The reaction was caried out in the tempera
ture range of 180 degrees-350 degrees C and 0.5 h(-1) weight hourly sp
ace velocity. All the catalysts show high activity. All SAPO catalysts
show the presence of acidic active centres. The chromite catalysts sh
ow the presence of acidic and strong basic active centres. The SAPO, M
SAPO catalysts are characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR, ESR and XPS
techniques.
