Abstract
Reaction of unsymmetrical 2-isopropoxybenzo-1,3-dioxa-2-borole with se mi- and thiosemicarbazones of heterocyclic methyl ketones in benzene s olution give different types of complexes with general formula [OC6H4O B(L(n))], where L(n) is the deprotonated form of the ligand L(n)H; n = 1-8). The spectroscopic results show that the ligands behave in a bid entate fashion whereas the complexes display a tetracoordinated enviro nment around boron as stereochemically active lone pair is also includ ed in the coordination sphere.
