The soliton-electric effect accompanying the propagation of an electro
magnetic soliton along an axis of a superlattice in an external magnet
ic field directed along the magnetic field of the soliton is studied.
It is assumed that the duration gamma(-1) of the soliton pulse is much
shorter than the free flight time of an electron. It is shown that in
the absence of a constant magnetic field the drag current varies as s
in(alpha sech(2) gamma t) (alpha is a constant determined by the param
eters of the superlattice). In the presence of a constant magnetic fie
ld of intensity H-0 much greater than H-s, where H-s is the amplitude
of the soliton field, the drag current oscillates. (C) 1996 American I
