The cyclic deformation and fracture behaviour of TiAl PST crystals are
reviewed. Anisotropy in cyclic hardening, fracture and fatigue life o
f the crystals deformed at phi = 0 and 45 degrees, where phi is the an
gle between the loading axis and lamellar planes, are discussed focusi
ng on the different deformation substructures in gamma-domains. The ef
fects of deformation temperature, addition of third elements and lamel
