Short and long distance contributions to the exclusive B-decays into v
arious K-resonances and dileptons, i.e. B --> K(i)l (l) over bar(l = e
, mu, v), are examined. The heavy quark effective theory has been used
to calculate the hadronic matrix elements. Substantial branching frac
tions are obtained for the dileptonic B-decays into some higher excite
d states of K-mesons. The long distance (resonance) contributions to t
hese exclusive rare B-decay modes dominate the short distance contribu
tions mostly by two orders of magnitude. It is pointed out that, exclu
ding the resonance contributions, the P-wave channels are dominant, ac
counting for about 50% of the inclusive B --> X(s)l(+)l(-) branching f
raction.
