Abstract
From the perspective of nematologists conducting their research in Ame rica, our discipline is receiving diminishing attention and a renewed commitment towards demonstrating the importance and impact of agricult ural nematology to our society is urgently necessary. This forum artic le examines how molecular approaches to nematode systematics and popul ation biology can strengthen the perception of our science through som e simple coherence of focus.
