Abstract
The main electrochemical characteristics of a new aluminum vanadium ox ide synthesized via a sol-gel process are reported. The kinetics of th e electrochemical insertion of lithium into Al0.11V2O5.15 has been inv estigated using ac impedance spectroscopy and the pulse relaxation tec hnique. These two methods, which involve basically different kinds of perturbation and measurement, provide similar data. The Variation of t he chemical. diffusion coefficient D-Li in the range 10(-10) to 10(-10 ) cm(2)/s(-1), as a function of the Li content, is compared to that pr eviously obtained for the V2O5 parent oxide and tentatively correlated with previous structural data reported on V2O5 and orthorhombic mixed oxides M(y)V(2)O(5) (M = Fe3+, Al3+).
