Abstract
An intelligent filter, originally a median filter, was developed and i ntroduced as noise correction in order to distinguish white spots from pixels which hold image information. The algorithm of the intelligent filter is able to correct dark spots as well as white spots using ind ependent criteria and does not affect any other signals. The experimen tal results confirmed that the intelligent filter worked as a white sp ot correction effectively.
