Abstract
Dinocephalian mammal-like reptiles have in the past been known only fr om Russia and South Africa. The recent discovery of anteosaurid dinoce phalians in China has important implications for the biostratigraphic distribution of these early therapsids and has furthermore revealed ad ditional autapomorphies of the Anteosauridae.
