Abstract
Shaft torsional vibrations have been investigated for a power system c ontaining d.c. and a.c. transmission lines operating in parallel, The investigation has been carried out with the use of a mathematical mode l in the form of state equations. Means of eliminating shaft torsional vibrations are proposed, as well as a new method for controlling the operating conditions of a d.c. transmission line.
