With account of eutectic and peritectic transformations expressions ar
e obtained and an analysis is made of the behavior of the fraction of
liquid phase of the two-phase zone and of the solidification rate in F
e-C system alloys over the entire range of initial carbon concentratio
n C-0 in alloys (0 < C-0 < 6.67 wt.%). Estimates are given of the limi
t values of the amount of peritectic formed under quasi-equilibrium so
lidification conditions. Expressions are obtained for the amount of eu
tectic formed on quasi-equilibrium solidification of Fe-C alloys over
the entire range of C-0. Limits of C-0 are given within which the effe
ct of eutectic and peritectic transformations on the kinetics of solid
ification can be ignored.
