The presumable path of the equilibrium solidification of the Fe82Pr12B
6 alloy is considered, and the phase composition studied on experiment
ally produced specimens of the alloy is described. The solidification
path of the Fe-Pr-B alloys is suggested to be similar to that of the F
e-Nd-B alloys. The equilibrium and nonequilibrium solidification proce
sses are considered for the alloys of the Fe-Pr-B system. For this pur
pose, specimens produced at various solidification rates are studied a
nd the revealed regularities are described. Quantitative solidificatio
n-rate dependences of the phase composition and of the phase-component
sizes of the Fe82Pr12B6 alloy are established.
