The existence of the ternary CeAl2Zn2 intermetallic compound is establ
ished by methods of physicochemical analyses. The Al-Zn-Al2Ce system i
s triangulated into secondary eutectic Al-Zn-CeAl2Zn2 and Al-CeAl2Zn2-
Al2Ce systems. The projection of liquidus surface is constructed and c
oordinates of three- and four-phase nonvariant transformations in the
Al-Zn-CeAl2Zn2 system are determined.
