Jh. Kim et al., HIGH-TEMPERATURE CREEP-BEHAVIOR OF CR3C2 CERAMIC COMPOSITE, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 212(1), 1996, pp. 87-93
The high temperature creep behaviors of Cr3C2 composite were investiga
ted under compressive and bending creep. The stress exponent and activ
ation energy of Cr3C2 composite were obtained at 1000 and 1050 degrees
C. Assuming different tensile and compressive responses in a ceramic
material, bending creep responses of Cr3C2 composite were analyzed num
erically. The numerical analysis showed that the stress state at the c
ross-section of a crept sample was redistributed nonlinearly and the n
eutral axis moved toward the compressive region as the applied stress
increased during bending creep.
