This paper deals with various methods of submicron-grained structure p
reparation based upon realization of intense plastic deformations. The
rmomechanical conditions prevailing during equal channel angular extru
sion as well as during torsion under pressure are considered and analy
zed. The approaches to estimate quantitatively the value of the accumu
lated strain for various schemes of deformation are proposed and the c
orresponding calculations are given.
