Abstract
A synthetic heme bearing ruthenium bis(terpyridine) through a covalent bond was successfully prepared. Ruthenium bis(terpyridine) pendant my oglobin, which was synthesized by a conventional cofactor reconstituti on method, was efficiently activated through a photoinduced electron-t ransfer reaction from the ruthenium complex to the heme center. No rea ction occurred in the corresponding intermolecular reaction system.
