Electronic structures of Zn1-xMnxTe films (0 less than or equal to x l
ess than or equal to 0.7) have been investigated by means of in situ m
easurements of inverse-photoemission and photoemission spectra. The Mn
3d spin-exchange splitting energy of 7.2 +/- 0.2 eV is evaluated from
emission peaks due to the Mn 3d down arrow and 3d up arrow states wit
h e(g) symmetry. On the other hand, the whole spectrum including multi
electron satellite compares well with the Mn 3d inverse-photoemission
and photoemission spectra calculated using a configuration-interaction
theory.
