Abstract
Resonance Auger electron spectra of atomic Rb are studied both experim entally and theoretically. Experiments were carried out using synchrot ron radiation from the positron storage ring of the Photon Factory at the National Laboratory for High Energy Physics. The electron spectra were recorded at selected photon energies corresponding to the stronge st 3d --> 5p excitation resonances. Photoexcitation and subsequent Aug er decay rates were predicted by multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock (MCDF) calculations. Main features in experiment were found to be fairly well reproduced by MCDF calculations.
