M. Kitajima et al., EXCITATION-FUNCTION MEASUREMENTS OF THE DISSOCIATIVE PHOTOIONIZATION EXCITATION OF N-2, Journal of electron spectroscopy and related phenomena, 79, 1996, pp. 467-469
The excitation function of the dissociative photoionization excitation
(DIE) of N-2 has been measured with the detection technique of coinci
dence between photoion and fluorescence-photon using extreme-uv synchr
otron radiation (SR) as an excitation source in the energy region of 3
5 - 65 eV and the detection direction parallel and perpendicular to th
e polarization vector of SR. The coincidence spectra obtained in this
energy region show at least two qualitatively different structures ori
ginating from two different DIE processes. The major components of the
DIE in the present energy region is ascribed to the dissociation of t
he 2 sigma(g)(-1 2)Sigma(g)(+) state which is strongly coupled with co
rrelation states in the (2) Sigma(g)(+) symmetry.
