Abstract
The ordinary Schwinger model is studied for a one-parameter class of r
egularizations commonly used in the study of the anomalous chiral Schw
inger model and shown to be sensible and in fact solvable for a range
of values of the parameter. There is a massless fermion in the spectru
m except at the value which corresponds to the usual treatment of the
