Abstract
The ENDOR data of O-2(-) in RbBr and KBr are compared with tile ones i n KCl for which two different types of O-2(-) ions were reported earli er. Interactions with the nearest neighbour alkali ions could be detec ted. The corresponding hyperfine and nuclear quadrupole coupling tenso rs were determined. For all cases, tile ENDOR spectra could be explain ed in terms of a monovacancy model, i.e. the O-2(-) ion is replacing a single halide ion. One of the O-2(-) defects in KCl was found to be c ompletely analogous to the ones found in KBr and RbBr Tile second type of O-2(-) ion is also replacing a single halide ion and is believed t o be perturbed by a nitrogen impurity.
