Y. Valy et al., ISOLATED LEFT SUPERIOR VENA-CAVA - VALUE OF INTRAOPERATIVE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY FOR IMPLANTATION OF A CARDIAC-PACEMAKER, Annales de cardiologie et d'angeiologie, 45(6), 1996, pp. 325-328
The authors report the case of a patient presenting with isolated left
superior vena cava, for which intracardiac implantation of a cardiac
pacemaker was facilitated by intraoperative transthoracic ultrasonogra
phic detection of the course of the ventricular catheter. Transoesopha
geal ultrasonography confirmed the diagnosis and eliminated a possible
associated malformation.
