Abstract
We present the ultrastructural features of a case of adenocarcinoma ar ising in ectopic hamartomatous thymoma in a 31 year old man, in the su praclavicular location. The tumor had a cribriform adenomatous compone nt with a granular cell quality and mimicked a metastatic carcinoma. U ltrastructurally, the spindle cell component revealed clusters of tono filaments and the tumor cells were attached by well developed desmosom es. The cytoplasm of adenocarcinoma cells contained peculiar cup-shape d bodies derived from the endoplasmic reticulum wrapped around the mit ochondriae.
