Abstract
N-Formylpyroglutamic acid-7-amido-4-methylcoumarine and pyroglutamyl-p yroblutamic acid-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin are the major products in th e synthesis of pyroglutamic acid-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin by phosphoru s pentachloride in dimethylformamide and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide unde r pyridine activation.
